I’m lifting with almost full strength in my shoulders again. My push-ups are coming back, but slowly. Oddly enough the Snatch is what I thought would take the longest time coming back, and it turned out to be the quickest. My overhead press behind the neck feels good and strong. The clean and jerk is coming back as I get that last little bit of end range of motion back. I’m getting there and having fun doing it.
I’ve also been training for a 50 miler at Lookout Mountain this December. This will be my first 50. Putting the variety of strength and conditioning into my running plan is working well. I’ve just ordered a couple of pieces of equipment and can’t wait to get them from GTech Fitness: https://www.gtechfitness.com/ I’m tired of doing back extensions on a physio ball, so I ordered a back extension machine. The second piece is a speed bag. I’ve always loved the speed bag. Not that I’m any good at it, but I used to play with them in some of the gyms I’ve worked at and miss playing around with one. I’m injury free and like the feel of my schedule with both the runs and the workouts combined. I’ll post some pictures once it’s all together and show you how I’m using them in the program.
